Lagom Teas was founded in February 2019 by 3 college friends. The three friends come from a variety of backgrounds, both professionally and personally, but they all love cannabis and felt that there was a way to consume CBD that didn't require medicinal droppers, confusion about dosing, or unfamiliar flavors. That's where tea comes in. Tea is such an approachable (and tasty) way to explore plant based wellness.
The name Lagom (Laah-gm) comes from Swedish. It means just enough, or just right. Basically, the feeling of everything being right where it is supposed to be, in a very simple way. Lauren, one of the founders learned this word from her grandfather (and favorite person) who used to use it to describe simple moments of bliss. For him, it meant stopping for a sandwich during a hike, or reading a book in a comfortable chair. For others, it's a perfectly rolled spliff or sitting on the beach with close friends, listening to the waves. Lagom thinks that the ethos of tea, combined with the power of CBD can help create little moments of lagom throughout the day.
Lagom Teas source their tea from USDA certified organic sources. Organic sourcing is essential to Lagom, because it means that their tea and herbs are grown without pesticides, which is a major contributor to environmental degradation in the tea industry. It also means that soil health is a consideration in growing their tea. In non-organic tea production, soil is often leached of essential nutrients, which are then replaced with inorganic fertilizers and pesticides. Those chemicals leak into water supplies and affect the ecosystems around them, not to mention the people consuming the tea.
Lagom believes that creative reuse is essential to responsible consumption. Their tea tins are designed to fit in aesthetically with lots of different places in your space and they highly encourage you reuse them in a way that is inspiring to you. If you can't find a place for them in your home, they are 100% recyclable. Each tea bag is made from corn fiber and is 100% compostable. The freshness packaging around each tea bag is also recyclable.
